Frequently Asked Questions

  • $165 - 50 min (standard session)

Extended sessions available up to 100 min ($280)

  • The consultation for psychotherapy is a free 20 minute phone consultation.

The consultation is an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other better. Your clinician will ask you about what you’re seeking support around, and you will have an opportunity to ask your provider questions about how they practice as well.

We encourage all potential clients to review this FAQ page thoroughly so the consultation can be spent discussing needs and values, rather than logistics. Clients are always encouraged to take time after the consultation to sit with their thoughts before moving forward with scheduling. Sometimes the provider may need time to thoughtfully consider the conversation and if they feel things are a good fit as well.

  • No, we are not in-network with any insurance providers at this time. Therefore, we are considered an “out-of-network” provider.

If requested, we can generate a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement to your insurance if you have access to Out-of-Network benefits. A superbill is not actually a bill, but rather it is “a receipt of healthcare services,” which you can then give to your insurance company to reduce your out of pocket cost.

You pay your provider directly the agreed upon fee ($165-280, depending on your chosen session length), and then your insurance will reimburse you a portion (sometimes all!) of the fee you paid.

When submitting to your insurance, make sure to indicate that the reimbursement should be sent to you directly, and not your provider.

Reimbursement rates vary between insurance carriers, and you will have to work with your insurance company directly to ensure reimbursement. Please consult your specific carrier for information on how much you will be reimbursed.

Medicaid and Medicare plans do not offer reimbursement for out-of-network services.

  • If you have a PPO plan, you definitely have out of network benefits.

If you have an HMO plan, you do not have any out of network benefits.

If you have an EPO plan, you may have out of network benefits.

If you’re unsure of your plan type, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask a representative if you have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental heatlh as part of your plan. Tell them you want to see a therapist who is out-of-network who can provide a superbill. If they say yes, ask how much you would be reimbursed per session utilizing these CPT codes.

The CPT codes insurance uses to reimburse you are as follows:

    Intake session - 90791

    50 min - 90834

    60 min - 90837

    90 min session - 90837 and 99354

  • Coaching is more action-oriented and solution focused than psychotherapy. Coaching can be to support goals around:

    • Improving executive dysfunction

    • Creating systems to support functionality and achieving goals

    • Enhancing relationships by learning and implementing different communication strategies

Coaching works well for people who have a specific goal or set of goals in mind that they have been unsuccessful in achieving on their own.
